Do you know the major differences between Term, Whole life, or Joint Life coverages?

How about Variable Universal Life, Participating Universal Life, Blended Whole Life, Modified Endowment Contracts, or Guaranteed No-Lapse Insurance?

Then, of course, there’s Indexed Universal Life, Private Placement, Premium Financing, and Split-Dollar coverages.

Each of these might be perfectly appropriate (or completely inappropriate) for a particular client, depending on why the policy is being purchased.

Join the Michiana Estate Planning Council on February 19 to demystify life insurance with retired CPA Marv Hills. Hills earned his CLU and ChFC designations and advised clients for decades about "the good, the bad, and the ugly" of life insurance, although he was never licensed to sell insurance products. This session will include some “ancient history” about life insurance all the way through today. Hills will describe the terminology and insurance arrangements mentioned above and give his perspectives on why people do – or don't – need particular types of insurance coverage.
