DESCRIPTION:\nDo you know the major differences between Term, Whole life, or Joint Life coverages?\n \nHow about Variable Universal Life, Participating Universal Life, Blended Whole Life, Modified Endowment Contracts, or Guaranteed No-Lapse Insurance?\n \nThen, of course, there’s Indexed Universal Life, Private Placement, Premium Financing, and Split-Dollar coverages.\n \nEach of these might be perfectly appropriate (or completely inappropriate) for a particular client, depending on why the policy is being purchased.\n \nJoin the Michiana Estate Planning Council on February 19 to demystify life insurance with retired CPA Marv Hills. Hills earned his CLU and ChFC designations and advised clients for decades about "the good, the bad, and the ugly" of life insurance, although he was never licensed to sell insurance products. This session will include some “ancient history” about life insurance all the way through today. Hills will describe the terminology and insurance arrangements mentioned above and give his perspectives on why people do – or don't – need particular types of insurance coverage.\n \nAbout Marv Hills\n \nMarv Hills joined Crowe in June 1981 and was Partner in Charge of the Estate, Gift, and Trust group until July 2019, and then continued as a Consultant until December 31, 2024. He has assisted families with estate planning, estate administration, and tax return preparation. He has had several articles published and has done extensive public speaking on tax issues and small business planning.\n
